COMMUNITY CANVASS:
Saturday, March 10th / 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Northeast Middle School
4904 Independence Ave., KCMO 64124

The Kansas City No Violence Alliance (KC NoVA) has selected nine Kansas City areas of concern based on data from their Law Enforcement Resource Center as well as from the seven Neighborhood Associations that comprise the Northeast Kansas City portion of East Patrol, along with a small section of Central Patrol. These nine areas of Kansas City’s Northeast will be canvassed with a goal of acquiring resident feedback of first-hand information on criminal activity, feedback on city services, as well as areas of community need.

KC NoVA is asking four citizens from each neighborhood association to assist with the canvass. The Canvass Meeting will begin in the parking lot of Northeast Middle School located at 4904 Independence Ave., Kansas City, MO 64124 on Saturday, March 10th at 10:00 AM. Teams will be formed, canvassing packets passed out, and groups will respond to their designated areas beginning at 10:30 AM. Canvassing teams are to return to the Northeast Middle School parking lot at 12:00 PM. Should there be any neighborhood areas that have not been canvassed by this time, KC NOVA will proceed to respond to those areas beginning at 12:30 PM.

The Kansas City Police Department is providing approximately 16 members to participate in this event. In order for this initiative to be a success, KC NoVA strongly urges each Northeast neighborhood association to provide representation for both the Community Meeting on Saturday, March 3rd as well as for the Neighborhood Canvass on Saturday, March 10th.

For questions or concerns, please, contact Sergeant Robert Gibbs at r.gibbs@kcpd.org. The designee of each neighborhood association will be contacted by 9:00 AM in the event of inclement weather. Thank you for your efforts to make this a productive endeavor, create a safer environment, and improve our neighborhoods.
