Come join the Northeast Kansas City Chamber for a very fun evening at a Missouri Mavericks game on Friday 3/2/12 at 7:00 pm. If you love ice hockey, you will love the Mavericks. If you have never been to an ice hockey game, or hate sports, you will still enjoy the Mavericks game experience! Ask anyone who has attended one of their games before! Most all of their games are sold out. I dragged my (“I hate all sports”) wife to a Mavericks game this past Saturday night and she will now admit to enjoying the experience (Tom Soptick – NEKC Chamber VP). Mavericks Management strives to make your evening a fun, family-oriented experience!
This event is an opportunity for Chamber members, friends, family, and prospective members, to have fun, get to know one another, and cheer KC’s newest sports team on to victory!

What?
NEKC Chamber sponsored trip to Lawrence, KS for: Chamber members, prospective members, NEKC Business Owners, and NEKC residents interested in improving Independence Avenue.
Why?
This trip is designed as an educational and fun visit to Massachusetts Street in Lawrence, KS which was honored by the American Planning Association as one of the “top Great Streets for 2010″. Its purpose is to give us
“a vision” of what Independence Avenue could be.”
The Lawrence Chamber has offered to give us an education on the history and success of this great street, along with a walking tour, and meeting with local officials.
When?
It takes place on Friday, 4/29/11, in conjunction with the “Final Fridays Art Walk” event on Massachusetts street. We will leave around 1:00 pm from the Don Bosco parking lot at 531 Garfield Avenue Kansas City, MO 64124, and return later in the afternoon or early evening. One Bus will leave Lawrence around 5:00 pm; another Bus will leave Lawrence around 6:30 pm.
Cost?
$35 (payment in advance) This price includes transportation to and from Lawrence, and a light dinner at Aimee’s Café on Massachusetts St. Transportation will be provided courtesy of The Salvation Army on two or their vehicles.

We will have Richard Zarate, a representative from HEDC (the Hispanic Economic Development Corporation), present information concerning multicultural marketing.
The usual fee of $15 will be applied to all participants who attend but all first time Chamber Businesses will get free lunch. The $15 is optional and only applies to those who want lunch.
All community members and supporters of the Northeast community are welcome.
