UNIVERSITY HEALTH
Description
We have changed our name from (Truman Medical Centers) to University Health to reflect our commitment to patient care, and highlight our role as an academic medical center. This healthcare system has a long, proud history as Kansas City's essential hospital. When he became county judge, Harry Truman saw that the county's home for the aged could not adequately address the health needs of its residents. In 1928, Jackson County voters approved a bond issue to build a county hospital. It was completed in 1930.
