The plan to move Kansas City forward on a Street car system is being developed and planned, including the Northeast section of rails. The NextRailKC planning site describes the corridors and futures of the street cars. “The three corridors include Independence Avenue, Linwood Boulevard/31st Street and Main Street Plus (a combined Main Street and Country Club Right-of-Way corridor). The City will now look in-depth at the three corridors to study and develop detailed routes and potential stop locations, ridership models, a financing strategy, and other economic development and conceptual engineering documents needed to identify the most cost effective and impactful Phase 2 streetcar expansion project.”
